The One with the Meanful Children's Day
Quite some time since the last time I blogged liao... and that is mainly due to me spending over-time Mapaling..Last Friday. the School ( School of Transport and Logistics) went over to their adopted Minds organization to celebrate children's day with, well the children there. However, to be correct, quite a few of the students there are older than me.. Anywayz, just for the people out there who are ignorant enough to not know the meaning of MINDs, it is Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore.
29th Sep: Thursday..
For a few of us ( 27 people out of a class of 45 ), we managed to escape the ritual of stoning in class and went to set up our stalls at the MINDs school. It’s more like slacking there because we have like 27 people just to set up 3 stalls. And the stalls are like all pre-built ( you know the kind of stalls where you normally buy your popcorn and candy floss at the Night Market? ) so all we have to do is to assemble it at the hall there. And being Samson, I managed to blend in with the surroundings and escape doing anything except for drawing a few pathetic looking signs. ( You should have seen the resources that they provided ).. Played a little football there ( yes in No. 4 ) until that the female trainee ( who happens to be the voluntary IC of the event and several other events after this ) came yapping at us to stop… And god the teachers there are chio..
30th Sep: Friday
In case you never notice my last sentence in the previous paragraph, God the teachers there are chio.. Reached the place at around 7.45am to get ready what little preparation there is. This time, the whole class was there, except for Daniel who ‘coincidentally’ had a medical appointment with his specialist. The vice-principal of MINDs gave an introduction of the school and briefed us about what’s gonna happen. There will be two celebration altogether, one for the morning session and the other for the afternoon one.
First up was a performance by the teachers. A dance to be exact, and one thing is for sure, there can’t separate the difference between moving a foot and a hand. The dance looks like some over-enthusiastic, mentally challenged group of freaks trying to wave their arms. The way they dance, It will even make me look like Elvis .Period. Next up was the skit that my class prepared for the children, titled, 3 little pigs. And like always, the irritating IC took on the role of the narrator. Boy!! She told the story like she is reading off a toilet bowl. And do you even have to ask whether she became the narrator through voting or volunteering. The singing of the YMCA song followed which I didn’t participate in coz I was hiding in the toilet. After all this, the children started going round the different stalls. Blah blah blah.. Many of the children like HIGH-FI-ING and a few of them like to hug people. I got hugged once by this student whom I can’t remember her name. Monkey got hugged 3 freaking times!!! However, he got bitten on every hug~ Fair enough.
And I think that this is quite enough for today’s entry…
And May the God Bless All~
p.s: What’s who all the bloody bombings? I dislike violence!
