Where am I heading from here?

I just got offered a temporary contract with the SAF. OC asked me to consider whether or not to continue my 'job' until school starts in August. Considering the regular pay and the mutiple benefits, I wouldn't deny that the offer is quite tempting.

I mean, which temp. job can offer a steady $2k pay? Right?

But like every NSF, the only thing that we are looking forward to is our Operational Ready Date. The day when we are all certified as a soldier capable of defending the country. The day when we become NSmen. And also the day when we will transform into cheap and expendable target boards for the enemies when war comes.

And that day will come in 22 days.

So now, I'm are back to where we started.

Should I pen down my name on that piece of paper?

And suddenly, the answer becomes so very obvious.

The Evil Dentist

Recently, I had a date with a dentist which left my gums raw and hellish painful and also 2 of my more intelligent tooth missing,

Yes, to save up on that miserable S$700++, I'm having my wisdom tooth extracted before I become operational ready. ( and thus, making the SAF pay for what they did, making me sprout wisdom tooth to substitute for the intelligence that they leech away from me during NS )

The experience is terrifying. Even more than when the school dentist summons you from your classroom, into their devil embrace.
And to add to the fear, my luck in 2007 isn't all that good. Even before I went into the surgical room, I have this nagging thought that some of my bad luck would follow.

The batch of Anaesthetic used wasn't as effective as it is suppose to be. The effect left me rapidly tapping my hands after the dentist slice off a chunk of my gums.

To those who still haven't had their wisdom tooth extracted, don't be afraid!

Just make sure that you take your prescribed amount of painkillers.

Oh, by the way, my surgical dentist is named Sean. Damn you~!

p.s: the telephone socket in my room is dead. tt will explain why I'm now secretly using the socket in the living room.
